| When we purchased the truck, the parking brake was non-operational. The Parking Brake pedel works but it didn't engage the parking brakes themselves. During the brake work, I found that it was simply out of adjustment but the adjusters within the brakes were seized. I purchased new parking brake shoes and hardware for the install and now have a working parking brake. The stoping power for the truck is still accomplished by disc brakes in the back (the rotor act as both the primary disc brake surface but also has an internal drum surface for the parking brake. I replaced both rotors and pads. Now this truck has four new rotors and pads, and new parking brake shoes and hardware. The brakes are not difficult to do but read some of the desciptions under the images for details. |
